Solana decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator Jupiter is set to airdrop JUP tokens to its community over the next two Januaries after the Jupiter DAO—the collective of JUP token holders—approved a revised airdrop proposal following a failed first try to hand out $1.7 billion worth of tokens.

The second proposal received more than 87% votes, with a few changes to the original. Only 58% of voters supported the measure. Late last month, the proposed vote was below the 70% threshold required to pass it.

The second proposal incorporated feedback from previous voters and included changes to the first such as providing an allocation for JUP stakeholders, increasing focus on real users instead of bots that airdrop, by using criteria like “actual holdings” You can also find out more about the following: “participation in the ecosystem.”

“Maximum effort has to be made to ensure that JUP goes to the right people who have a good chance to become long-term members—not farmers or overly focused on [a] minority set of users,” Meow was the pseudonym of Jupiter’s co-founder. The second proposal is a good example.

It is not known when the actual airdrop will take place, but the proposal has been revised to indicate that it should happen before the scheduled time. “Jupuary” token drop “completely wrap up by Catstanbul,” A two-day Jupiter eco-system event will be held in Istanbul (Turkey) on 25 and 26 January 2025.

Jupiter Conclusion Its first airdrop for ecosystem participants Airdropping of 1.35 billion JUP (or 13.5%) or the total token supply (10 billion) to approximately 1 million eligible wallets in January 2024.

Meow stated that the final JUP token amount was not included in this second proposal. They were still debating it. "will be the team's burden to bear." According to the first proposal, 700,000,000 JUP tokens were requested for every January for two years. This would amount to $1.7 billion, at today’s JUP price.

“We all want the same thing—to grow the Jupiverse in the most best way possible,” Say Meow
